About The Weather Station
After several months of break-downs we have decided to invest in a NEW ‘top of the range’ weather station which is powered by a Davies Vantage Vue wireless sensor suite. The data is collected every second and the site is updated via a ‘data logger’ every 5 seconds using Weather Display Software.
The station comprises; an anemometer (wind direction and speed sensor), rain gauge, temperature and humidity sensor which are located on top of a 3 storey building within 100m of the beach. All this equipment has been installed and situated in optimal positions for the highest accuracy possible.
December 2019 – The site is now run on a new robust server offering improved stability and reliability.
February 2020 – Our new ‘Live Weather Page’ is up and running which is an alternative to the old ‘Adobe Flash’ version. The page will now run on all major web browsers and will show on Smartphones.
December 2020 – Coming soon is a new Live Weather Page which show the latest weather conditions in North Wales in the form of ‘Steel Gauges’, in addition to the current HTML5 version. We are retiring the old ‘Flash’ Live Weather Page shortly.
About our Town
Rhos-on-Sea or Llandrillo-yn-Rhos is a small seaside community within the Conwy County Borough and a mile to the northwest of Colwyn Bay, on the coast. It is named after the Welsh kingdom of Rhos established there in late Roman times as a sub-kingdom of Gwynedd. Rhos is within easy reach of the Mountains and Lakes of the Snowdonia National Park, the area is breathtakingly beautiful and abounds with leisure and recreational activities. The cosmopolitan delights of Llandudno and medieval Conwy with its castle and historic port are also but a short drive away. The whole area is well served by the A55 Expressway and Intercity Rail Network.
